Antifogmatic on Vinyl, Fall Tour Dates, The New

Howdy Friends!

Pickles, a.k.a. Noam, here with some news that will surely change your life. First things first: Greetings from the Wild West! We're currently embroiled in a 480-mile drive from Salt Lake City to Helena, MT with yours truly behind the wheel. Not to worry - I'm dictating to Paul Kowert. I would gladly let someone else take over the drive; however, it is currently impossible as Paul is wholly uninsurable and as far as the rest of the guys, let's just say that, surprisingly, Salt Lake City turned out to be a great opium town.

We have some exciting news to share with you.

Antifogmatic: The Vinyl Edition is available now. Finally! We apologize for any inconvenience that was caused by the delay. As is always the case with new technologies, there are little surprises here and there that invariably hold things up. But the wait is over, the future is here! The vinyl album is a single LP on 140-gram vinyl. For those less futuristic Punch Brothers fans who haven't been able to pull the trigger on the LP version, you should know that the Vinyl Edition comes with a sleeved CD as well. After considerable outcry from some pesky traditionalists, we also have arranged that all who order the vinyl from the  Punch Brothers Bazaar will receive an instant MP3 download of the entire album! And not to spread rumors, but rumor has it if you play the first side of the Antifogmatic LP backwards at 45 rpm you'll hear the 4th movement of "The Blind Leaving the Blind" barked by three dogs and two puppies.

For those of you who live in a houseboat, or are afraid of small needles, we have not forgotten you. The non-vinyl deluxe and standard editions of Antifogmatic are still available at the Bazaar. The deluxe edition includes an instrumental EP, All Of This Is True, and a live DVD, Live from the Lower East Side: It's p-Bingo Night!.  Each order of the deluxe edition will include an Antifogmatic cocktail recipe guide featuring illustrations. Unfortunately, we can no longer offer recipe guides personally signed by the band as we were having quality control issues pertaining to the spelling of "Pikelny."

We are pleased to announce that our Fall 2010 Tour will be taking place this autumn. We will play a number of headlining shows including stops in Austin (with the amazing Loudon Wainwright III), Denver, Nashville, Atlanta, and Birmingham. Most shows are now on-sale. People might be lining up outside of these venues already. There's just no way to tell for sure. Head over to the Tour page for a full list of dates and ticketing information.

Be sure to check out our brand new website. It's been a long time coming. Some said it would never happen. There was even talk of a Punch Brothers web-curse involving an owl. Such silliness! Our new site features full Facebook and Twitter integration. You gotta hand it to the talented folks at for bringing such arch-rivals together. The first person to click on all the "Like" buttons on the new website will be granted adminis...oh, sorry folks, Critter wins!

We'll be appearing this weekend at the Mile High Music Festival in Denver. We've been out on the road for almost 4 weeks now. If you come to the set you are guaranteed to hear some nonsensical banter and witness some inexplicable facial hair. In addition to our 4:00 pm set on Sunday in the Elk Tent, we will be performing a short second set on the Free Yr Radio Stage at 1:00 pm. We'll be signing CDs at the on-site  Twist & Shout CD store immediately following our set at the Elk Tent, regardless of whether anyone is buying them.

We had an amazing time at the Newport Folk Festival. If you didn't make it, you can still hear our set from the festival here. Please listen forgivingly as Critter, Paul and I had never before played on Rhode Island.  Punch Brothers were also featured on NPR's Weekend Edition. If you missed the live broadcast, you can read the feature and stream the interview here.  And last but not least, we're now big-time, I think. We stopped by the MTV offices in Times Square to play a few songs off of Antifogmatic and a couple of our hit covers. You can see video evidence of a real 5-string banjo on the premises at Viacom's corporate headquarters (as well as our set) here.
