Hello! Critter here. I'm writing you from the cozy confines of my apartment on the majestic shores of the Gowanus Canal here in Brooklyn. I've been back for almost two weeks now and I must say: it's nice to be home. And it feels like home, which is pretty remarkable considering that I only just moved here less than two months ago.

For those of you who are new to the band, I’m new too. I started playing bass in the band in October 2008. Now I’m nearing the end of my second tour and have moved into my apartment with Critter in Brooklyn, NY, just a few blocks from the rest of the guys. Our apartment got broken into already.

Greetings once again! Well, as my business associate Senior Pickles (pronounced PEE-kers) mentioned in his last blog, Pickles Parents welcome new Governor , the Punch Brothers Big Time World Tour 2009© is well underway. We're having a great time out here in the sweet, sunny South playing music for the fine folks and enjoying the many spoils of the road. Punch Brothers Tour 2009 is in full gear. (The official name of the tour is Punch Brothers Big Time World Tour 2009). The Punch Brothers visited the radio station WBFO, Buffalo's NPR affliliate station, while in town on Monday, November 17th. They recorded a session for the show "Buffalo Avenues", airing tonight at 8 pm ET. The session will be archived here for those who aren't in the area.

Punch Brothers Add a New Bass Player |

Punch Brothers have parted ways with bass player Greg Garrison. Greg, who wrote and performed on the band's debut album "Punch" as well as played on Chris Thile's solo release "How To Grow a Woman From The Ground", toured extensively with the band in support of both albums. The band wishes Greg all the best as he begins his next chapter. Filling Greg's tremendously large musical shoes is Paul Kowert. Paul, hailing from Madison, Wisconsin, and who studied at The Curtis Institute of Music, begins touring with Punch Brothers this November. The band is proud and excited to welcome him to the band.

Noam and Gabe will be the musical guests for an upcoming Brooklyn comedy show. "Entertaining Tammy with Jena Friedman" - Comic Jena Friedman hosts a FREE music and comedy variety show featuring a rotating roster of comedians, sketch groups, musicians and bands. The show's aim is to amuse Tammy, the Sound Fix bartender.

Chris Eldridge took part in a film for Dan Crary. Dan is making a film on the history of the guitar and is interviewing many guitar players of all styles. Critter and Dan performed the Bluegrass lead flatpicking style for the film. No details on the release yet, we'll post the latest news when we know.
